Divine Deco

"GG" Micron .01 & Gouache

This drawing of an iconic Swedish film actress of the 1920s-1930s makes her look a little younger than the reference photo, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

My profile pic is a photo of my younger self, and I don't mind, not at all.

At any rate, like the rest of the world, the temperatures here in Eugene have been kind of oppressive.   Without air conditioning in our rental, "GG" was about it for artwork today.

New York, Empire State Bldg. mural

Looking forward to a new theme next week.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

  2. Your "GG" portrait is wonderful - only a Micron and Gouache - but full of expression! And surely she once was also a young woman :) - she wanted to stay young the whole life.
I like your deco art pictures too!
    Have a wonderful weekend, Chris!

Hahaha! Photos of your younger self would be teen-ish age because you're young enough to be my daughter!

  10. Beautiful and I knew who it was immediately :). I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you made her look younger. Sorry about the lack of AC = that's inhuman in this day and age.

  12. I love her face and the way you chose to leave the paper untouched for the light.
You selection of papers in the previous portrait were marvelous too. It all comes down to
my really liking your art. Seems whatever you do, I truly emote to it.
Thinking houses must be hard to find in Eugene. I have one with a fabulous studio here in Las Cruces but you obviously enjoy the green! Fingers crossed you find the perfect one soon. VERY soon!
